I normally take my architectural photos late afternoon to twilight – this time round it was against the norm: the shot was taken just before the sun rose! (seems I must try it more often…)
It was for an South African architect, whose work I’ve been admiring for a long time – it took 3 years of communication for me to be finally commissioned and I must add there was a slight sense of apprehension from my side, if I would deliver or not – a magazine cover was also in the mix…

Fortunately such an amazing architectural design, makes it somewhat easier, to produce a visually striking photo.
I used an Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mk II, with the Olympus M.Zuiko 12-40mm PRO Lens – small & light gear, which enable me to easily explore buildings from ALL angles and sides!
I also developed a multi-shot panoramic technique (stitched in Lightroom) with the 12-40mm lens, which can give me an angle of view of up to 180 degrees without distortion, if done correctly – the extra range assists tremendously in producing eye-catching shots!
